About

It's called Game Trough because that's what it is

There is a very large amount of software being written right now by people describing what they want to a model. Some of it is genuinely good. A lot of it is slop. Most of it disappears into a chat log about four minutes after it starts working.

This site is a place to put the ones worth keeping. Not a showcase of what AI can do — a games site that happens to be full of games made this way, with the same things any games site needs: pages that load fast, a play button that works, comments underneath, and a person deciding what gets published.

What's actually here

  • Real hosting. Upload a zip of your build and it's served from an isolated sandbox with a locked-down content security policy. Not a link to a Replit that'll be gone in a month.
  • A review queue. Every submission is looked at by a human before it goes live. That's slower than auto-publishing and it's the right call.
  • A forum with an actual point. The interesting part of an AI-built game is usually the gap between what you asked for and what you got. That's what the community section is for.
  • Attribution for the process. Every game page has a "how it was made" section. One-shot it, iterate on it, hand-write the hard parts — all respectable, all worth writing down.

What's deliberately not here

  • Ads over gameplay. There are ad units on this site because hosting costs money. There will never be one inside or on top of a game frame.
  • Engagement mechanics. No streaks, no daily login rewards, no notification designed to drag you back.
  • Pretending the AI didn't help. That's the whole premise.

Who made it

One person, with a lot of help from Claude Code — which felt like the only honest way to build this particular website.

Got something to put in?

Submissions are open to anyone with an account. Zip the build, pick the stack, write two honest sentences about how you made it.
